Welcoming Visionary Leadership to GLOBIO’s Board of Directors
We are honored to welcome two new board members whose leadership and experience strengthen GLOBIO’s future.
Mary Ford
A long-time conservation leader at the Jane Goodall Institute, Mary brings deep expertise in community engagement, education, and global conservation leadership. Her leadership as Senior Director of the Roots & Shoots USA program and passion for primate conservation inspire us to push boundaries in protecting biodiversity.
Here’s what she had to say about joining our mission:
“GLOBIO’s work resonates deeply with my belief that education and storytelling are catalysts for conservation. By connecting global audiences with stories of wildlife and the dedicated people working to protect them, we’re not just raising awareness – we’re inspiring action. I joined the board to help scale that inspiration.”

Sean Southey
As CEO of Canada’s largest non-profit conservation organization and a respected voice in international conservation policy, Sean brings decades of experience shaping effective wildlife strategies worldwide. His work with the IUCN and leadership in conservation initiatives has advanced species protection, habitat preservation, and public engagement. Sean’s dedication to creating meaningful conservation impact aligns perfectly with GLOBIO’s mission to inspire action through storytelling.
In his own words:
“GLOBIO’s creative spirit and innovative use of media make it a unique and influential voice in the global biodiversity community, and I look forward to contributing my experience in conservation, education, and partnerships to help amplify its impact.”

We are grateful to have their insight and guidance as we enter our 25th year.
